UK Modern Slavery Act Statement – 2022

Encompassing the year from September 2022 to August 2023

JAG-UFS Group Ltd is committed to valuing and respecting human rights on a global scale. Operating ethically. Respecting employees, clients and stakeholders are core values at the heart of JAG-UFS Groups culture.

The United Kingdom Modern Slaver Act came into effect in October 2015 focusing on preventing slaver and human trafficking. The following statement details the process by which the company assess the requirements of the act.

JAG-UFS Group is an international logistics company that operates in the United Kingdom and works with a network of overseas partners across the World. The group is made up of the following companies.

JAG-UFS (International) Ltd
Euroasia Maritime Agencies Ltd
Worldspan Freight Services Ltd

JAG-UFS Group acknowledges its responsibility in relation to taking Modern Slavery and is committed to complying with the provisions of the act. JAG-UFS Group does not enter into business with any other organisation that is knowingly involved in slavery or forced labour.

No labour provided to the group in the pursuance of the provision of its own services is obtained by means of slavery or human trafficking. The Group strictly adheres to the standards required in relation to its responsibilities under the relevant employment legislation.

JAG-UFS Group currently operates with partners in many parts of the world handling products for import or export. As the group are not involved in the manufacture of these products it is considered there is little or no scope for the groups direct activities being exposed to slavery or human trafficking.

JAG-UFS Group supply chain includes overseas partners who provide forwarding services locally to exporters and importers who are again not manufacturers. The group therefore consider its exposure to the risk of slavery and human trafficking to be relatively limited.

Nonetheless it has taken steps as much as possible to ensure that such practices do not take place in its business or any organisation that supplies goods or services to it.

JAG-UFS Group occasionally use agency staff as and when the need arises. As again this is not in a manufacturing role there is little or no scope for the groups direct activities to be exposed to slavery or human trafficking.

JAG-UFS Group and its associated companies are committed to ensuring that its suppliers adhere to the standards of ethics. Suppliers are required to demonstrate that they provide safe working conditions, treat workers with dignity and respect and act ethically and within the law in their use of labour.

The organisation works with suppliers to ensure they meet the standards required for their workforce. Serious violations will lead to the termination of the business relationship.

JAG-UFS Group ensures that Overseas Partners (3 rd party suppliers) who operate on behalf of the group abide by the laws and relevant legislations and regularly reviews the agreements to ensure they remain compliant.

JAG-UFS Group undertakes due diligence when taking on new contracts and conducts periodic reviews.

JAG-UFS Group has arrangements with 3 rd party agencies who supply recruitment and agency staff services. Our supply chains are limited in the UK and the majority of our oversea partners are either owned by JAG-UFS Group or are members of International agent networks.

To ensure a good level of understanding of the risks of modern slavery staff are provided with e-learning courses via our in house HR provider system.

JAG-UFS Group are committed to employing a zero tolerance policy towards modern slavery.

This statement has been approved by the JAG-UFS Group bord of directors in September 2022 and will be reviewed annually.
